מידע נוסף
In the market’s first section one can find clothes for children, women and men; shoes, glasses, scarfs, hats and houseware. Further down begins the spice market, comprising a large variety of spices such as finely chopped Cumin, Turmeric, Cinnamon, black pepper, and different kinds of herbs. Next to the spices section begins a section of vegetables and fruit, some of which are Baladi. Visitors can also find here field picked herbs, such as grain and mallow, designated for fresh salads as well as cheeses and Hummus.
It is a colorful market; and even if you do not intend to shop in it during your trip, it is worthwhile visiting and absorbing some of its special Galilean atmosphere, with people from all religions intermingling in rambunctious clatter, talking in a mix of languages and a language unique to the people of the Galilee – Hebrew spiced with Arabic and Arabic spiced with Hebrew. Throughout the market there are stands of Falafel, Ice Cream, oriental sweets and good restaurants.
